Lightnin Bug has been an acoustic/electric/eclectic/eccentric mutt music duo for 18 years, Mic and
Otter, have been playing around NW Arkansas for the past 18 years. Both guitar builders with over 20
years experience
we love making mongrel guitars, rescuing beaters and doing custom projects. Currently ( the last 10

Hear it played
Custom Steel body Tricone Guitar. There will only be
One made with this combo of features and finish. We
hand made and fitted a custom neck to this imported
Steel body. Vintage Gold with bronze burst
Crystalline lacquer finish. All internal structures made
from very old Rock maple to provide the utmost in
solid sound transmission from the hand spun
continental cones.. We used a maple saddle for a
mellower tone .
Custom flat Fingerboard made from ancient Brazilian
Rosewood with gold pearl dot markers is vertical
grain and was leveled with neck mounted to the body
before fretting, polished vintage bone nut. Action was
set up at 1/8" at the 12th fret for either slide or finger
style. We installed Gold Grover Sta-tight tuning
machines to match the finish. Neck has a 30's style
full V shape , is 1 3/4" at the nut with a 25.5" scale
and is finished with nitrocellulose in a vintage amber
to dark tobacco brown burst. Head stock is capped
with the same rosewood that the fingerboard is made
from and has a brass lightning bolt inlay

We took a new Republic Resolian and did a
number of secret modifications to bring out a
warmer bass, a sweeter treble end and even
made it have more volume and sustain. This
one has very low action for fast up the neck
playing and quick ragtime finger style changes.
Finished in a subtle three tone Amber
Crystalline lacquer burst, it is a true one of a
kind, and there won't be another exactly like it
We think its the best sounding, looking and
playing resolian in the world.....:-)
