Milpack
The Yahoo milpack group was founded in 02/2004 so folks that enjoy collecting
and operating portable military and commercial radios could have a forum to
share information about their hobby. Milpack is a sub-group of the hfpack and
army radios groups. Many members seem to be active in those groups as well.
The point of forming such a group was to have a forum for discussion of radios
originally produced for military and commercial operations but that lend
themselves nicely to the use of amateur radio operators in portable and
pedestrian mobile operations. Also to promote on the air activity with
military/commercial portable radios.
You don't have to own military or commercial radio gear to be a member, just
having an interest in the subject is all that required.
So get out of the house, attach the whip to the packset or get that wire antenna
up in the air and lets have some fun making contacts!
